About Us

The Yelapa Animal Project is a small non-profit project of endlessly devoted individuals who cannot just stand and watch an animal suffer. Dana Huston and Jerry Davies are the founders, and not a day goes by when they aren't putting animals before themselves. They do absolutely everything they can, and then some, to keep the Yelapa animal family safe and happy. Every day there is a new animal in need, and with the rudimentary supplies that is available, they work miracles here.

Both Dana and Jerry are animal lovers for life, with boundless empathy and compassion for any creature. With the help of their consulting veterinarians, Jerry's 30 years of experience as a large and small animal vet tech and Dana's rescue passion and willingness to become an emergency "para-vet tech", they have created an animal clinic here for emergencies. They are always looking for animal lovers, vet techs or veterinarians who would like to assist.

Without the Yelapa Animal Project, a lot of animals in Yelapa would have no vet care and would die needlessly of illnesses that can be treated with proper medicine and care. These women are often called for everything and anything that goes wrong with an animal. The project has made a massive positive impact on the health and well being of not only the animals lives, but their owner's too; This little slice of paradise called Yelapa, is even more so because of them.
